Tritoma, also known as False Aloe or Kniphofia, is a plant with spectacular flowers that is sure to attract attention in your garden.. Find out more about this fascinating plant :
Description :
Tritoma, also called Satan's Firebrand, is famous for its unique, flamboyant flower spikes, which stand on long, stiff stems.. Its flowers, whether single or two-tone, are truly spectacular and attract bees and other pollinating insects.
Although relatively little used in gardens until now, the Tritome is attracting increasing interest due to its remarkable beauty.. It can reach a height of about fifty centimeters, with flower spikes often exceeding this size to form a magnificent bouquet of bright colors.
Tritoma prefers warm locations and mild winters, but it can adapt to a variety of conditions as long as the soil is well-drained and retains little water.. In areas with harsh winters, protection against the cold is recommended.
The best planting times are early fall and spring.. If you choose to grow in a container, make sure to use a quality potting soil and to drain the bottom of the pot with gravel.. A pot of at least 30 cm in diameter is recommended for the first sowing, and it is advisable to repot into a 40 cm pot the following year.
