Kabazaiku is one of the representative traditional crafts that originated in Kakunodate, Akita Prefecture. This technique, also known as ``cherry bark work'' because it uses the bark of wild cherry blossoms, was developed as a side job for lower-class samurai for more than 200 years, and its product value has increased over time.
This Kaba-zaiku fountain pen uses the techniques and materials of ``Kakunodate Denshiro'', the signature brand of ``Fujiki Denshiro Shoten'', which has been producing high-quality Kaba-zaiku for six generations since its founding in the 4th year of Kaei era in the Edo period.
