The JB64 Jimny now comes in a striking two-tone finish with a black roof!
This 1/24 scale kit requires assembly.
No painting required: Each part is molded in its own color, giving the body a glossy finish not achievable with paint.
No gluing required: The parts fit together easily for easy assembly.
The JB64 is the current model, released in 2018, as the fourth-generation Jimny.
Unlike the curved design of the previous JB23, the JB64 now features a square body reminiscent of the previous and second-generation Jimnys.
The JB64 retains the mechanical features of its predecessor, including a ladder frame and rigid axle suspension, for superior off-road performance and improved on-road performance.
The JB64 is available in three grades: XC, XL, and XG, with multiple monotone colors available. The XC model is the only one available with a two-tone black top.
This product is based on the JB64W-1 XC grade model, released in 2018.
The XC grade features special aluminum wheels and mirrors with turn signals.
The 1/24 scale size allows for accurate reproduction of detailed sculpting.
The body is molded using a special molding material to achieve a level of gloss that is difficult to achieve with paint.
The molding colors are available in seven finishes: Kinetic Yellow, Black, Silver, Gunmetallic, Clear Smoke, Clear, and Clear Red.
The body and roof are separate parts, molded in their respective colors.
Even with straight assembly, the colored parts create a painted appearance, and the part division significantly reduces masking work when painting.
The body is crafted using a slide mold, creating a box-shaped design that accurately reproduces the square style.
The hood, rear, roof, etc. are layered and fitted onto the body parts, a standard feature of the NEXT series.
Concave moldings on the door panels and other parts are expressed with a distinct depth that allows for easy painting and shading.
The undercarriage features a ladder frame section as a separate part to which additional parts can be attached.
The leading and trailing arms, front and rear differential gear cases, and drive shafts are recreated as separate parts.
The suspension shape is based on that of a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The headlights feature the LED light type that is only available on the XC, and are recreated as special parts.
The side mirrors replicate the XC-specific shape with built-in turn signals.
The driver's and passenger's windows feature glass and frame designed as separate pieces, eliminating the need for stickers or masking during painting.
The rear window (side/rear) is specially molded in a smoke color to create a color contrast with the front.
The rear glass defogger is delicately sculpted.
The wiper arms/blades are molded parts with a delicate, realistic feel, and the concave shape of the blade surface is also recreated with intricate sculpting.
The steering wheel and instrument panel are special parts that recreate the characteristics of the XC.
The seat is a two-piece construction to reproduce the shape of both the seat side and back, and the rear seat headrests are reproduced in the lowered position.
The aluminum wheels exclusive to the XC grade are used, and are realistically reproduced in a gunmetal molded color.
The tires are molded from rubber resin using a dedicated mold (new mold) and come with 175/80R16 on-road tires.
The included stickers reproduce the detailed coloring and are pre-cut for easy application.
The stickers include the meter panel, logo, vehicle number, etc.
The spare tire at the rear is made from the same rubber material as the four wheels.
The rear lights are reproduced using two-color light lenses made by layering clear red and clear molded color parts.
The lights also feature intricately sculpted reflector curves and bulbs.
The completed model measures approximately 150mm long x 79mm wide x 78mm high.
