Product Introduction
This is a Fine Molds "1/72 Aircraft Series: Imperial Navy Type 9 Experimental Single-Seat Fighter (Improved Version)" plastic model kit.
The Type 96 Carrier-Based Fighter was the Navy's main fighter prior to the adoption of the Zero fighter.
The prototype was the Type 9 Experimental Single-Seat Fighter, built with an innovative design that would later lead to Jiro Horikoshi's Zero fighter designs.
Several aircraft shapes were explored for the prototype, but this kit recreates the most distinctive design, featuring inverted gull wings and a cowling with numerous protrusions.
This type is a modification of the first prototype, and photographs of the actual aircraft remain to this day.
This is, of course, the first time it has been modeled in 1/72 scale, and the fuselage and cowling are different from those previously released in a model magazine project, and are reproduced using new molds.
This product requires assembly and painting.
Separate adhesives, tools, and paints are required for assembly and painting.
