They are good at guerrilla warfare such as night attacks, and in the story, Kushana respects them as excellent warriors.
Its appearance, with its ethnic mask-like helmet and miasma mask, gives a sense of its unique culture and style. Takeya-style free-standing ornaments have designs that are a mix of indigenous styles and advanced processing techniques inherited from ancient civilizations, arranged by Takayuki Takeya after analyzing Hayao Miyazaki's original comics and color illustrations.
Yukio Fujioka was in charge of prototype production. The color scheme is muted, but bold red and blue are used to emphasize the ethnic feel.
